When we found out about CBC’s Cover Me Canada contest a couple weeks ago, we scrambled to get an entry together in time for the deadline. Check out our heavy metal version of Alannah Myles’ “Black Velvet”:

Lately we’ve been doing lots of waiting: waiting to hear back from Much videoFACT, waiting to confirm new show dates, and now we’ll be waiting to hear from CBC, to find out if we’ll be one of nine bands who make it onto the show. In the meantime, we’re working out the kinks in our new material and coordinating as much jam time as possible. With some luck, a new song should be ready for unveiling in the next few weeks!

This Friday, we’re stoked to be playing with Today I Caught the Plague, Assassinate the Following, and our good friends Cyreene – in what will be their last show ever. The Cyreene guys are awesome musicians and we wish them all the best; can’t wait to see what they do in their future projects!

You can also catch us at the Red Rooster in Burlington on July 22nd, with Slyde from Ottawa. Should be a blast!
